Girl Power!

Diane Sawyer to take over as anchor of ABC evening news.

"Women will anchor two of the three major network evening newscasts — still considered the premier jobs in the television news business — after ABC said Wednesday that Diane Sawyer will replace Charles Gibson, who is retiring at the end of the year."

Good for her.  She's going to be ten times better than Katie Couric.  I'll miss Charlie Gibson, though.  Not that I have time to actually watch the news these days!

In other news-related news:

The Tribune Co. may exit bankruptcy this fall.  Hmm.

Oh, on a personal note...I found out last week that my old company laid off 12 people, mostly newsroom and accounting staff, but also a few in advertising and creative services. Not good.
